HHSAA DIVISION I GIRLS BASKETBALL: Punahou defeats Lahainaluna, 66-47

Punahou advanced to the semifinals of the Hawaiian Airlines HHSAA Division I Girls Basketball Championship after pounding fourth-seeded Lahainaluna, 66-47, Wednesday, in a quarterfinal round game at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The two-time defending state champion Buffanblu (11-5) will face Honokaa. Punahou led by 10 after the first quarter and extended its lead 23 at the half.

The Buffanblu were led by Janelle Nomura’s 16 points. Ofa Nomoa scored a team-high 16 for the Lunas (13-2).
